Arsenal 'ready to sign £66.9m star, deal would be completed at £42.7m'

Arsenal are ready to sign Gonzalo Higuain for £42.7million this summer with Napoli ready to cash in, according to reports.

Higuain has been strongly linked with an exit from Napoli all summer, having apparently grown frustrated with life in Italy.

Arsenal are keen on a deal, and while the transfer looked impossible a few weeks ago, Sportmediaset say Napoli are now ready to sell the striker.

It's claimed that they value him at £66.9m but Arsenal could see the deal for just £42.7m.

Arsene Wenger was believed to be close to signing Higuain before the Argentine left Real Madrid in 2013.
