Muhammadu Buhari: President sends condolence message to Ghana over flood, fire disaster

Buhari said that the flooding is a reawakening call to leaders in the West African sub-region of their responsibilities to the problem of global warming.

President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a condolence message to the people and government of Nigeria’s neighbouring country Ghana over the flooding and fire outbreak which claimed many of lives in the country.
The message was contained in a statement made available to journalists on Friday 5, in Abuja, by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.
“In this moment of grief and loss, the government and people of Nigeria stand with the government and people of Ghana,” the message read.
Buhari noted that the flooding reminds leaders and governments in the West African sub-region of their responsibilities to the problem of global warming, among others.
He prayed that the souls of the deceased rest in eternal bliss and that their families and friends find fortitude to bear the losses.
