Arsenal have been cleared to complete the transfer of Geoffrey Kondogbia, after Inter Milan held unsuccessful talks with him, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Arsene Wenger is believed to have started negotiations to sign the Monaco midfielder, as the Gunners look to strengthen their midfield options ahead of next season.

Kondogbia, 22, has long been linked with a move to the Emirates, and the news that Inter's negotiations have stalled will surely excite Arsenal fans.

It is, though, reported that Monaco will consider nothing less than £25million before letting their prized possession leave.

AC Milan are also thought to be in hunt for the France international, so Wenger still has a fight on his hands to complete a deal.
